Repost: Donation Summary for 2010
[The following was originally posted in the main Articles section, but became buried under a bunch of newer content. Here is our donation report for 2010.]
Here are some of the ways you have helped us reach out to people in need all over the world in 2010:
In partnership with our customers, and with the government matching funds, we were able to raise over $13,000 for Pakistan flood relief and over $16,000 for Haiti earthquake relief.
Additionally, we have contributed $8,000 towards education for girls in Kenya and Tanzania through the Canadian Harambee Education Society (CHES). We have also given $2,000 to Seeds of Help, to build water tanks in Guatemala, and $1,000 to Grounds for Health, which does cancer screening.
Looking Ahead
Along with continuing to support CHES, Seeds of Help, and Grounds for Health in 2011, we will also be sending several JJ Bean staff, and JJ himself, to build houses with Habitat for Humanity on the east coast of Guatemala.
